Native Plant Gardening Series- Large-scale Landscape Design

Learn to analyze a site and design large-scale projects that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

Expert horticulturalists teach this series and prepare students to transform gardens into native plant landscapes. Take the series or individual classes. (See the full schedule below)

$45 per class or $243 for series of six classes (10% series discount). Registration is required and space is limited.


Full Schedule:

Small-scale Landscape Design, September 9, 9 a.m. – noon
Design for your own backyard or other relatively small spaces (an acre or less).

Plants I, September 9, 1 – 4 p.m.
Identify and learn about a variety of plants native to Central Texas, unique growing characteristics of each and how to choose the right ones for a garden.

Large-scale Landscape Design, September 10, 1 – 4 p.m.
Learn to analyze a site and design large-scale projects that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

Plants II, September 16, 9 a.m. – noon
Dig deeper into the topic of Texas flora. Learn about native plants and where to find them as well as resources to keep growing. Plants I is recommended prior to this class.

Installation, September 16, 1 – 4 p.m.
Learn site preparation, irrigation, planting best practices and mulch application for a healthy garden.

Maintenance, September 23, 9 a.m. – noon
Maintaining a native garden requires knowledge of plant physiology, gardening tools, watering guidelines and other best practices. Learn it all in this essential class.

Integrated Pest Management, September 23, 1 – 4 p.m.
Identify common beneficial and harmful insects in your garden landscape. This class also covers pest management, treatment and safety practices.
