Celebrate the dark skies over Enchanted Rock!
Join members of the Hill Country Astronomers, Friends of Enchanted Rock and park staff for a tour through space. Multiple telescopes will be set up near the comfort station for the duration of the event for viewing stars and other deep space objects. There will be a group hike up to the top of Enchanted Rock, followed by a Constellation Tour led by Ken Kattner of the International Dark-Sky Association and Putman Mountain Observatory. All individuals participating in the hike and constellation tour must remain with the group at all times. All events will conclude by 10:00PM.
As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.
