Cypress Flows: Cypress Creek Project Quarterly Update

Happy (belated) New Year from the Cypress Creek Project team! We hope that you all had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday season. The Cypress Creek Project team has been busy wrapping up the TCEQ contract and prepping to kick-off the next phase of the project in March.

In December, stakeholders had the opportunity to take a tour of the Best Management Practices (BMP) demonstrations we have installed throughout the watershed. The tour allowed attendees to learn about how these BMP's are actively working to protect the Cypress Creek watershed.

Did not get a chance to take the tour in-person? An online guided tour of all of the BMPs is live for everyone to view and learn more about what has been happening in the watershed. Follow the link below to take the tour.

We are excited to have the incredible opportunity to continue our work in the Wimberley Valley, and protect this invaluable gem of the Hill Country for three more years!

"Our team will be working closely with local governments to ensure that we codify many of the activities and strategies we have recommended throughout the process," said Nick Dornak, Director of Watershed Services for the The Meadows Center and project manager for the Cypress Creek Project. "The Meadows Center will continue to serve as the coordinator of the WPP. Ultimately, my hope is that by 2023 our role will evolve to guidance and consultation of a locally-led Cypress Creek WPP."
