Cypress Flows: Cypress Creek Watershed Implementation Updates

Hello Cypress Creek Project Stakeholders and Friends,

It is hard to believe that we are already in the back half of what has most certainly been an interesting year! We hope that you have been well and staying healthy. We also hope that you have found the time to safely get outside and explore the wonderful watershed that you live in.

Work officially began on Phase IV of the Cypress Creek Project back in March, and we have been working hard to keep Cypress Creek clean, clear, and flowing remotely from our respective homes. You can read the Scope of Work for the current phase of the project here. While all travel was on hold by Texas State University earlier this year, we were able to get out into the field in June to conduct our quarterly water quality monitoring along the creek and it was great to be out in the field and get our feet wet again!

Early in August, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service hosted a virtual Healthy Lawns, Healthy Waters workshop catered specifically towards residents living in Hays and Blanco County. A virtual public stakeholder meeting was also conducted to update residents within the watershed of what can be expected in the coming years. Didn’t get a chance to make these two events? We have plenty of more meetings, workshops, and a speaker series coming up within the next two years that you will have the opportunity to attend. Be on the lookout for announcements!
